East Mountains
The East Mountains are an area broadly defined as anywhere to the east of the Sandia Mountain range. It includes picturesque and mountainous towns such as Sandia Park, Cedar Crest, Edgewood, Carnuel, and many others. It has, in recent years, become a haven for those looking to escape the bustle of the city while remaining within a short drive from the urban convenience. In days gone by, the East Mountains were defined by ranching, mining, and other activities. This cultural heritage is still present in the areas many unique shops, restaurants, and bars.
